Shakespeare in the Garden

by Mick Hales

(Abrams, 2006)

Shakespeare flowers as Mick Hales offers photos of 14 gardens in the U.S., Canada and England that were inspired by the Bard’s work. They include the Shakespeare Garden in Central Park. They’re followed by photos of 80 plants that are mentioned in his plays – each accompanied by an appropriate quote like this one from “Hamlet,” when Ophelia says: “There’s rosemary, that’s for remembrance. Pray, love, remember. And there is pansies; that’s for thoughts.”
